Elgin Vintners

This farm is the core of the business with all the partners farming around it. Max Hahn owns Elgin Orchards, an 800 ha farm tucked up against the Hottentot Holland Mountains on the South West section of the Valley. Elgin Orchards consists of two farms namely, Oudebrug Farm and Ridgelands. The two farms were purchased by Edward Syfret in 1922 and he renamed it Elgin Orchards. 

The beautiful Elgin Valley is a high inland plateau, completely surrounded by mountains. Just 70km from Cape Town, South Africa, it is rapidly gaining a reputation for the production of premium quality wines. The Elgin Valley is the home of Elgin Vintners, publishers of fine wines and a close knit partnership of six dedicated grape growers from the region.

The accommodation includes breakfast, which is served between 08h00 -10h00. If guests require breakfast at a different time then this must be arranged before booking in.Self-catering also available, please contact us for prices.

Bedrooms and kitchens are cleaned daily.The house is stocked with Wine, beer, cider, cold drinks and bottled water. Goods consumed will be invoiced to the responsible person.

While you are welcome to bring your own drinks, please do not bring your own wine as only Elgin Vintners wine is allowed on the premises.

The house is kitted with the following:

Tennis rackets and balls
Boules set
Cricket bats and balls
Braai facilities and equipment.

Guests are free to explore the farm so bring along hiking boots, running shoes and mountain bikes to enjoy the orchards, Palmiet River and the mountain trails in and around Elgin. Long stay bookings and multiple room bookings are eligble for discount.
